Scott Land & Lease has an immediate opening for an experienced Crown Surface Land Administrator to join our renowned and growing AB Crown Surface team to work on a large volume of projects for a number of the industry’s top operators. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting key client Crown surface land projects with others on our team, while continuously delivering on our value proposition.
We are looking for:
Someone who knows and can navigate the key aspects of Crown Surface Land Administration in Alberta – with a strong working knowledge of Alberta OneStop and AEP. A passionate team-oriented person, eager to learn new things, and who brings a positive, can-do attitude to work each day.
What you will do:
- Reviewing plans, determining required searches and identify any potential acquisition issues
- Prepare supporting land documents such as third-party line lists, contact reports, surface acquisition reports, landowner line lists, public consultation reports, third party, timber and road use requests and notifications
- Work in concert with other disciplines on large project team
- Prepare and submit applications and required consents and documents for the acquisition of Crown lands, well sites, pipelines, amendments and renewals
- Communicate with key stakeholders such as clients, disposition holders, third parties, regulatory officials, government agencies, and project managers
- Work closely with our Indigenous Consultation team
- Prepare and update status reports ensuring accuracy and effective communication of project progress internally and with clients
- Prepare final packages specific to the client requirements and delivery methods
- Deliver projects on time and on budget with an acute attention to detail
- Ensure project requirements, deadlines and schedules are on track
- Exceed client expectations
Skills required for success in this role:
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced deadline driven service environment
- Detail and accuracy oriented
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (i.e. ability to communicate effectively with internal team members and externally with client, stakeholders and third parties)
- Excellent organizational skills to set and drive established goals while focusing on accuracy
- Familiarity and competence with LSAS, SPIN, ABADATA, iLAND
- Proficiency with the Alberta land system and reading plans
- Strong working knowledge of D56 requirements
- Strong working knowledge of third-party and road use requirements
- Positive, friendly with a high customer service approach to duties
- Excellent problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage multiple tasks at once
- Exceptional reporting and management skills
- Minimum two years Crown administration experience
- Experience in a brokerage environment would be an asset
Your experience includes:
- Knowledge of Crown Land in Alberta including OneStop and AEP application requirements and processes
- Extensive working knowledge of surface land procedures, relevant land legislation and regulations
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office products with strong Excel skills
- Experience in billable time environment is preferred
- Monitoring and reporting on project progress
